How Can I Bring Honor?নমুনা
The Lord wants to honor you
Did you know that Joshua was likely terrified of leadership? Can you imagine his feelings when God told him, “‘Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.’” (Joshua 1:2, NIV) I can only imagine the fear, intimidation, and anxiety that rushed through his body.
Do you ever get stressed with leadership opportunities? Are you afraid of failure or new challenges? I was, and it was crippling. Fear of rejection and failure seemed to hinder every part of me. Even though I achieved a lot in hockey, baseball, and football, I battled high anxiety before every game. In relationships, I struggled with fitting in and confidence. Like most people, I developed coping mechanisms: withdrawal, playing it safe, people-pleasing, substance abuse, and eventually depression. Until I found my Savior. The Bible says, “‘So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’” (John 8:36, NIV) Christ really did set me free through His Word, His Spirit, great Christians, a lot of hard work, and counseling. It was a process for sure.
What about you? Have you been set free? Did you know that Christ wants to set you free and bring you honor? God spoke to Joshua with these comforting words: “And the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.’” (Joshua 3:7, NIV) He didn’t want Joshua to fail. God saw something in Joshua that even Joshua couldn’t see.
I’m honored to attend my grandchildren’s soccer games almost every week. It’s exhilarating and so much fun because I know my role. I’m not their coach or parent...I’m their Papa G. I’m there to cheer, whistle, and encourage them. I’m 100% committed to their successes and supportive during their losses.
God wants to be your biggest cheerleader. Can you hear Him say, “I’m with you. I’m for you. I want you to overcome and succeed. I love you unconditionally. I will bring you honor before your peers.”? He’ll say all these things because He loves you and you are a miracle.
