Amazing grace
Grace is the unmerited favor of God. It’s not free. It was paid for by Christ on the cross and confirmed in the resurrection.
Do you need more of God’s favor in your life, family, or business? I do, and I’m unafraid to ask because no one can earn it. It is a gift from God paid for by Christ. Isn’t that amazing? The Bible says, “In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” (Ephesians 1:7, NIV)
It seems incredible that during the first 1,500 years after the resurrection of Christ, the church drifted from grace. The church became known for faith by works and indulgences. But a young monk by the name of Martin Luther read Ephesians 2:8 in a new way. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” We are saved by the favor of God, and it’s a gift bought by Christ’s death and resurrection. Wow! Are you saved from your weaknesses, sin, the power of the enemy, and yourself? Have you received the free gift of undeserved favor?
Not long ago, I had the privilege of playing “Amazing Grace” for my mom while she was dying. My sister Joanne asked for it. It meant a lot to my mom and dad. It means a lot to me as well. You see, I wasn’t raised as a choir boy before that fateful day when the grace of God filled my life. I drank too much, took drugs, swore like crazy, chased women, and fought a lot. I needed grace. I needed forgiveness. I knew I couldn’t earn it, but I could receive the gift.
What about you? Have you received the grace of God? Are you cleansed and forgiven by the King? If you are not sure, please take a moment and ask Christ to come into your life and forgive you of all your sins.
“‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.’” (Revelation 3:20, NKJV). Jesus will come in and cleanse you by His grace. Hallelujah!
And that’s how you become a miracle.
