Walking Through the Book of Acts - Part 1নমুনা
You can receive power
There is a big new fad in America called the survivalist movement. Men and women from all types of socioeconomic backgrounds are loading up on water, guns, ammo, non-perishable food, and survival strategies. The resurgence of conspiracy theories in these troubling times and political agendas have destabilized our society. Riots are common now; lockdowns and closures are very common. There are even power outages across California.
Are you afraid of the future? Are you stocking up for a coming apocalypse?
It may seem silly, but the power outages concerned me...so I finally bought a generator. Actually, my wife bought it, and I’m supposed to set it up, just in case. Oh, good luck. Power is very important to our daily lives. Perhaps this is why Jesus said, “‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…’” (Acts 1:8, NIV)
Although the disciples didn’t have electrical power, they needed emotional and spiritual power to accomplish a crazy mission. Some call it the great co-mission: “‘...and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’” (Acts 1:8, NIV)
These disciples had the world against them, but Jesus sent them out with a type of power that was dynamite. Do you need this type of power?
You can receive the power of the Holy Spirit because you are a miracle.
