Day 5- Provision For My Success
- God's Word
Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
- Today’s Thought
Have you ever met anyone who said they wanted to fail in life? We all want to experience success in our opportunities, education, career, relationships, health, goals, dreams, etc. However, the trap we fall into is measuring success by the world or how our culture views success. The world measures success by position, power, possessions, and popularity. Sadly, all of these accomplishments and accolades can come crashing down if they are abused or if the sole focus is on success itself. However, true success is measured by knowing and doing the will of God.
King Solomon reminds us that if our motives are pure, and our hearts and intentions for our success are to honor and please the Lord, then He will ultimately reward us according to His will for our lives. Even if the rewards of success may not be what we thought or different from how the world measures success, our true success is knowing and doing the will of God no matter what. We must remember that God's favor and success can come to us both here on earth and through our eternal rewards in Heaven. Either way, our outcome is successful when we desire to honor and serve Him.
As we continue to pray this prayer of blessing over family, friends, and our future, let's pray that God will provide for us and bless us with His success.
- My Prayer
May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT)
Lord, thank you that you are the giver of all good things. Today, I am reminded of 1 Chronicles 29:12 Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength. Today, I pray for your blessings over my life, family, and friends. As I commit my ideas, dreams, work, relationships, health, and desires to you, Lord, I ask that you would grant me, my family, and friends success today. In Jesus' name, Amen!
About this Plan
For 20 years, Michelle's father, Dr. Rod Masteller, used "5 P's" taken from the prayer of Aaron to serve as a daily guide to pray God's blessings over his life, family, and friends. In his honor, we have written this devotional as a framework to help you focus on praying for God's provision, protection, presence, power, and peace.
