Lessons for the Climbনমুনা
Do you sometimes feel like life is more than you bargained for? You’re wondering where you are on this journey and why you haven’t arrived at your end destination yet - or even what the end destination looks like.
Before Jesus left his disciples, he reassured them. He told them He was going before them to prepare a place for them. He told them not to worry and to trust God, and that in fact, they knew the way to where He was going. Thomas’s response, however, was one filled with a lack of clarity and uncertainty. He said, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how do we know the way?” Jesus responded that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one goes to the Father except through Him.
Our life as believers is an upward ascent to God and the pathway to get there is Jesus. We go on our journey thinking that it should follow a straight path, but it isn’t linear - it winds, it twists, it turns, and it’s full of humanity. We find ourselves on the side of a road, but we can look to God in the middle of those circumstances, and find our way back to the main road. When we look back later, we’ll realize the learnings and beauty resulting from the unplanned things and even the sudden disasters - those are part of our journeys and will provide us with so many valuable lessons.
Pause today and fix your eyes on Jesus. Share with him, as Thomas did, and let Him reassure your troubled heart. Meditate on His word and promises. He will lead you and guide you.
