Theme: Remember
Crisis Converted Then:
Having pointed out the irony of worshipping man-made idols in 44:9-20, the prophet now calls on the Israelites to remember who is really God. When God’s people stop and think, they remember that God has brought them out of captivity time and time again. They remember that he has routinely wiped away their sinfulness and covenant failure. When they remember, they praise and worship God. Instead of worshipping what they have created from the materials of God’s creation, they now worship the one who created all things.
Crisis Converted Now:
When we stop and think, we also remember. We remember all the times God has rescued us from our sinfulness. We remember the abundance he has poured into our lives. We remember the joy of life in the Son. Take some time today to stop and think. Take some time just to remember all that God has done.

About this Plan
This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
