Crisis Converted

DAY 12 OF 64

Theme: God and Politics

Crisis Converted Then:

The Persian army threatened Babylon in the sixth century B.C. They were advancing from the north under the capable leadership of their emperor, Cyrus II. God claims that he alone has called for this dominant threat to Babylon’s existence. No other god or false prophet could even offer counsel about this. Their words and deeds were as useless as the wind.

Crisis Converted Now:

God can work sovereignly among the nations of the world to accomplish his purposes. When politics look bleak, especially in times of trouble, trust in God to call the right people and forces into play. No political pundits will offer him any helpful advice. He won’t tune in to CNN and Fox News for their suggestions. God may astound us all with his working among nations to bring his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

About this Plan

Crisis Converted

This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
