Love God Greatly: Davidনমুনা
SOAP: 2 Samuel 12:16-17
David was a passionate man who made mistakes. He neglected to put up guardrails to protect his purity and fell into sin. When the Prophet Nathan held up a mirror to his heart, he acknowledged his sin and repented. He humbly cried out to God and asked for his son with Bathsheba to be spared. He fully returned to the Lord with a contrite heart and faced the painful consequences of his foolish choices.
Our response to God’s chastening should be surrender. Like David, we must get on our knees before God and ask for His mercy. It’s easy to grow callous and cold to our own need for a Savior if we don’t constantly examine our hearts in light of God’s Word.
Father, thank You for your love and forgiveness. Keep our hearts tender toward your truth and give us humble hearts that are quick to repent. May we worship You with our thoughts and actions today. Amen.
