Summoned: Answering a Call to the Impossible

DAY 9 OF 10

Summoned to Serve

You have just walked, verse by verse, through the entire book of Esther. Now you can go anywhere in the Bible and begin to grasp what God is saying.

My greatest hope and prayer for you is that the door to biblical wisdom and understanding has been unlocked. I pray that the hinges of hindrance would fly off the door frame as it swings open wide enough for you to blaze through—with a powerful hunger to know the Lord and make Him known.

Start running your race, with the Word in hand, and never look back, friend.

Now that we have read the book of Esther, what should we do with all our newfound information? How should we adjust or calibrate our lives to match in response to the things we have found in the text?

Our focus throughout the book of Esther has been God’s unchanging faithfulness. God is good when things are bad. He intervenes for us and invites us to labor alongside Him for our good and for His glory. One thing that had the most impact on me during my time in Esther, aside from the awe and wonder of God’s sovereignty, is that Esther’s story is a parallel to Moses and the Exodus.

Did you catch it?

Esther’s bravery and obedience to the Lord in going un-summoned before the king is as profound as Moses standing before Pharaoh to set his people free. In both accounts, God faithfully delivered His people and worked in and through them to accomplish His purposes.
