Scars: Repurposing Imperfectionনমুনা

Scars: Repurposing Imperfection

DAY 3 OF 3

John 20:27 (NIV) says, "Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.""

Visible and invisible scars can pull one into the dark hole of comparison. Comparison births jealousy, discontentment, and self-defeating thoughts. Repurposing our imperfections frees us from the stronghold of comparison because we develop a new sense of purpose and celebrate our victories in Jesus Christ.

To overcome comparison, we must stop doubting the finished works of Jesus and believe what God's Word says about us. We are unique, forgiven, fearfully, and wonderfully made. (Ephesians 4:32; 1 Peter 2:9; Psalm 139:14).

Say this out loud, if you can: Heavenly Father, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:14).

When comparison tries to pull you down, please remember that your experiences are unique and you are precious in God's eyes.

I pray you will remember that God does not want you to be like another human and He created for a purpose that transcends your imperfections. I pray you will remember that your identity or sense of worth can only be found in Jesus Christ.
