HOW DO WE PLEASE THE LORD?
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You, I wait all the day. (Psalm 25:5)
Gaius was a man who received praise from John. John heard Gaius’s life testimony from other people. Gaius lived in the truth. He was often a blessing for other servants of God who came from everywhere to his house. Gaius was a righteous and friendly person; someone who was willing and faithful to do God's Word. If what Gaius did was praised by John, it would also please God.
John states that there is no greater joy than hearing that his spiritual children live in the truth. Wow, isn’t this truly extraordinary? Will we also be like John? Many parents demand their children to achieve something. When this happens, they will be so proud to show their children’s accomplishments to other people. That is not wrong, but we should not forget that the most important thing in our life is the values of life.
The most important thing in this life is living righteously. We will please God when we practice the truth every day. What should be inside our hearts and minds when we are at home, in the family, at school, at work, or wherever our feet go, is doing the truth. How do we pass the time when we are not busy? The devil is very sly; he waits for the right time to knock us down. Sometimes the devil tries to tempt us when we are relaxing and not busy. Therefore, do not be careless, let us do the truth even though we have nothing to do at that time.
Gaius welcomed God's servants into his home. When we are not busy, let’s try to invite some friends to come to our house and share life's testimonies so that both of you can strengthen each other. Do the truth and become a channel of blessing in the ministry. Being involved in humanitarian ministry will also make our lives act the truth – and everything we do is to please God, hallelujah.
Life is like an investment, let’s sow the truth.
