Peace: Fighting Anxiety God's Wayনমুনা
The world will give you a lot of strategies for handling anxiety. You can have a therapy session online, even through chat. You can download an app that teaches deep breathing and relaxation techniques. Maybe you listen to a soothing sounds playlist or workout. Or maybe you even do a deep dive into funny videos. Our society offers many tools to cope with anxiety.
But only Jesus can give you peace.
Yes, taking deep breaths slows your heart rate and allows you to think clearer. Yes, talking to a counselor when you feel overwhelmed is healthy. And yes, learning to relax instead of focusing on the negative of the situation you’re facing is good too. Although these tools and strategies are incredibly helpful, they alone are incapable of bringing you true, lasting peace.
It’s the source of our peace that makes the difference.
In today’s passage, Jesus was about to go to the cross. As we discussed yesterday, He would no longer be walking the earth with His disciples. Their entire world was about to change. But Jesus promised something more.
In the midst of this whirlwind of events, Jesus taught His disciples about real peace—peace that comes from God and is different from worldly peace. Because God alone is sovereign and in control, He alone can provide true peace.

About this Plan
Have your fears ever caused you to experience heart-racing, palms-sweating, can’t-catch-a-coherent-thought anxiety? In a world broken by sin, anxiety is all too common. You’re not alone in your fears, worries, or questions. Our hearts cry out for peace—and thankfully, God answers. God invites us to be at peace with Him through Jesus and empowers us through the Holy Spirit to be at peace with others, and yes, even with ourselves.
