Mile Markersনমুনা
Jesus
Mile markers are very helpful, even essential on a long journey. They’re also beneficial in a relationship. You may have discovered that relationships don’t stand still. Today, we look at our relationship with Jesus as the most essential mile marker on our spiritual journey. What is your relationship with Him today? Are you moving closer or moving further away from Jesus? Is He someone you have begun a relationship with by faith and who is influencing your life daily? Maybe He is only a historical religious leader to you? Or, perhaps you think of Him as a mythical figure or a fairy tale?
Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you think I am?” Simon Peter, always quick to speak up, answered Him, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.” (Matthew 16:16) If Jesus asked you that same question (and I believe He has), what would your answer be?
So, you know, I didn’t grow up in the church. I believed in Jesus as much as I believed in Abraham Lincoln. I was 16 years old when a friend told me that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose again. He explained that Jesus wanted to forgive me for my sins, and He wanted to have a relationship with me. That was all news to me! Well, I didn’t necessarily understand everything, but I believed what my friend said was true. I knew I needed a Savior. I felt I wasn’t good enough to get into church, let alone into Heaven! That day, I started on a journey of trusting Jesus and following Him.
This is the Good News! In full knowledge of all your sin, God has taken the initiative and demonstrated His amazing love for you. He has already moved toward you. In fact, He has always been in pursuit of you, and now He’s inviting you to come to Him. Will you take a step toward Christ now? A life of purpose, peace, and freedom begins with a relationship with Jesus.
Prayer: God, today, I choose to turn from my sin and follow Jesus. I am trusting Him alone to forgive me, cleanse me, and change me from the inside out. Amen.
Mile Marker 4: JESUS — Real transformation begins with a relationship with Christ. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, He invites you now to come to Him, trust Him, and follow Him for the rest of the journey. How will you respond?

About this Plan
Mile markers tell us where we are, and the progress we are making on our journey. There are also spiritual mile markers that point to where we are with God and our progress toward spiritual maturity. We tend to make up what we think is important to God, but God is clear on the mile markers that matter. In this devotional, we will look at four of those mile markers.
