Through the Bible: Judgesনমুনা
Jesus is Our King
In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Judges 17:6 (ESV)
Israel had no spiritual leader at that time, and lawlessness prevailed throughout the land The Israelites did what seemed right to them without the wisdom of others, and without the accountability of leadership. It resulted in them living a life of spiritual and moral collapse.
God uses people in positions of leadership to provide direction and counsel to His children. God’s word is our guidance and the foundation for all truths; we must become the doers of His will. Today, Jesus is our King, we are in the Kingdom of God. If we do not follow our King, like Israelites, we will do what is right in our own eyes.
Prayer:
Father God, I come into Your presence – I pray that You show us how to live free from guilt and distress. You are the only real path to happiness and fulfillment. Please be King in our lives and use us to lead others to You this day. In Jesus Mighty Name, I pray, Amen!
About this Plan
Judges describes the deteriorating cycle of the Israelites following Joshua’s death. Because of idolatry, the Israelites were oppressed by the enemies. When they repented, God raised up judges to deliver them. Soon they forgot and fell into evil, and the vicious cycle continued. Even today, leaders are sent to deliver us but a true salvation takes place only when our hearts are obedient to the one King who remains forever.
