Do You Know Who Jesus Is?

DAY 6 OF 8

Say this together: When you feel like you’re in the dark, let Jesus be your light.

Have you ever tried to walk in the dark? You probably bumped into something. Ouch! Jesus said if you follow Him, you won’t have to be in darkness. You have His light to guide you!

What does it mean to walk in darkness? It’s trying to figure out the best way to live without Jesus’ light. You’ll wind up bumping into wrong choices when you wanted to make the best choices. Ouch! That can hurt you, hurt others, and hurt your friendship with God.

You don’t have to figure out God’s good way on your own. Choose to follow Jesus. His light will guide you when you spend time with Him. Read the Bible to learn how Jesus lived. Pray to Him. Sing to Him. And even learn about Jesus at church. Talk to a trusted friend or grown-up who loves Jesus whenever you have questions about Him.

Talk Together

  • Challenge: Who can say the Bible verse and do the motions the loudest?
  • If you walked around in this room with the lights off, what would happen?
  • If you turned on the lights and walked around again, what would be different?
  • How is following Jesus different from walking in darkness?

Pray Together

God, thank You for guiding us down the path that leads to life. Help us follow You and know Your light. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Read Together

Read the Bible verse for today. Take turns sharing what it makes you think about. Ask each other any questions it makes you think of. Note: If you read the verse in translation that’s different from the one used in the video, talk about what is the same and what is different in each translation.
