Relationship Puzzles

DAY 5 OF 14

Is it your fault or my fault? (Hint: It’s both)

In Math, 2 + 2 = 4.

In relationships, your mistakes + my mistakes = a conflict. Do you say, “Well, in my situation, the problem was 2 + 0 = 2"? (In other words, “Your mistakes + my perfection = our conflict”)

But…“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8) What if the other person made a LOT more mistakes than you did and the problem looks like 100+3=103?

I still want to know those three things that I did wrong. I believe that God still has something for you to learn from it.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16) When I read that, I see a picture of two people both confessing their sins. I see two people both praying for each other.

My heart longs for that to happen in real life.  I don't know about you, but I have rarely experienced that scripture.

Response:

Do you believe that BOTH of you made mistakes? Or do you believe that it was ALL the other person’s fault?

If you could make a math problem about your conflict, what numbers would you put in the blanks   THEM_____ + ME ______= The Big Mess.

Do you care more about your mistakes and fixing them?

You are responsible before God for yourself, not for them.
