NOTHING IS WASTED
“If there hadn’t been a darkness, I would’ve never seen the light.”
God is big. He is bigger than anything we face, and He is big enough to use everything in our lives for His plans and purposes. Not just the good things, but the bad things too. One of my favorite historical events in all of scripture is the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. When his brothers, fueled by jealousy, stripped Joseph of his prized coat, threw him in a hole to sell him to slavery, it seemed like all was lost. However, that was just the beginning of an incredible work God was doing to set Joseph up as an important ruler who would save his people.
God promises us in Romans 8:28 that He is working in all things for our good and His glory. With God, nothing is wasted. All of our struggles, all of our pain, all the dark circumstances we walk through - it isn’t meaningless. God is doing something in it, and He will see to it that even the things that others mean for our harm will serve our good in the end. I think we see this played out so beautifully in the cross of Jesus Christ. Something as horrible as Roman crucifixion was God’s plan to bring salvation for all who would believe. If God can do that with the cross, imagine what He is working in our lives.

About this Plan
We all walk through dark times in our lives, but God has promised to bring us through to the light. He uses everything we go through to point us to the hope of resurrection.
