FULLNESS OF LIFEনমুনা
Further reading: Luke 10:25-35
The parable of the Good Samaritan, which Jesus gives as an answer to the law expert’s question, ‘who is my neighbour?’ can give rise to an ‘awkward moment’... when you realise your neighbour isn’t just the person who lives next door.
Like the day I realized the outfit I was wearing was made by my neighbour in Bangladesh. Her hands had woven threads together to produce the garment I appraised at the shops and deemed worthy to be counted among my collection of fashion must haves. Her hands who longed to caress her daughter’s face had instead toiled for 14 hours a day in oppressive conditions. Her hands that are gifted with creativity yet sentenced to repetition without agency.
She is my neighbour.
Our hands may never touch but I can care about her circumstance, I can have mercy on her, I can love her as I love myself.
Because my choices impact hers.
Let’s know each other. Let’s live in the fullness of life that God intends.
PRAYER
Lord, show us the way to restore our relationship with those who are impacted by our choices.

About this Plan
Sometimes as much as we long for community, we retreat from our neighbours and miss out on the fullness of life that God intends for us. This plan reminds us of how God wants us to love our neighbours so we can all experience the fullness of life He intends for us.
