Justice

DAY 10 OF 30

CHRIST OUR PATTERN

In the above passage Paul points out that there is no careful consideration by Christ of the proportion to be given out of what He had and no expectation that in His need he would receive from them whom he was giving. Paul means that if Christ become poor that we might be rich, then in what does our wealth consist? It means it does not consist in money or in power but in fellowship. Our standard of giving should not be the result of careful calculation of how much will be left when we have given. Here the only standard is the love of Christ. In the light of this can we hold back anything? The question we need to ask is do we contribute willingly to glamorous well-advertised causes and forget the crying needs of the inner city?

Dear God,
Thank you for your unconditional love for us. Help us to live a life which reflects the love that you have shown to us. We pray that we will be mindful of how we give and how we help and care for those who are oppressed. -Amen

Keep Jesus Christ in your hearts and you will recognize His face in every human being. You will want to help him out in all his needs; the needs of your brothers and sisters. - John Paul II

About this Plan

Justice

My inspiration for this 30 days Devotional is from prolonged theological discourses on Justice. My burning desire is to see that the Church becomes catalyst to stop violence against the poor. I am also grateful to Organizations who work relentlessly to secure Justice for the poor.
