Worship in the Workplaceনমুনা
Engaged!
That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil - this is the gift of God. - Ecc 2:24
According to Gallup's recent State of the Global Workplace report, a staggering 85 percent of employees around the world are not engaged or are actively disengaged at work. Out of those, 67 percent are 'not engaged', which means that they don't really care about their work. They come in and give their time – to earn enough money, but they do not give their best. What was found was that, the way people were being developed was not up to the satisfaction of the employees.
In the verse above, however, Solomon challenges us to ‘find satisfaction’ in all our toil, which he says is ‘the gift of God’. Solomon shows us that firstly, the satisfaction and enjoyment of our labour stems from God Himself. Secondly, we need to choose to enjoy – to ‘find’ satisfaction. As we choose to immerse ourselves in worship toward God in ‘all’ we do, we turn our faces toward God, and He shows us how to find satisfaction in our jobs. If you are in a leadership position, how can you help your employees or staff members to find that elusive satisfaction in their jobs? Are you developing them to be people who can find purpose? Are you giving them opportunities to develop? What type of a leader are you – exposing weaknesses or underlining strengths?
Day 4 Challenge: Find someone who works for you (or with you) whom you can encourage today. Do they have an undiscovered strength that will help the company or organisation? Can you help them find a purpose that will enable them to develop as individuals? Help someone find satisfaction in their job today.
When we spend time in God's presence, we find total and complete satisfaction and joy. In the same way – as we spend time at work, and as we offer our work as worship to God, let us ask God to help us find satisfaction in our workplaces. Going a step further, ask Him to use us to help someone else find enjoyment in their work today.

Father, help me to find satisfaction in my toil. Amen

About this Plan
God didn’t build a Church and place man there to worship Him – instead, He created a garden, and put man there to work in it. Imagine if we could see our workplace through God’s ‘glasses’? Imagine how God can then use us in the workplace! Take up these 7 challenges with Zippora and see your workplace change into a worship place.
