Trust In Him
These scriptures are illuminating when it comes to understanding the path for our life. Often, we can be consumed with choices in our everyday situations: which job to choose, which relationship to pursue, which purchase to make. This can create an 'analysis paralysis' in our lives where we are second-guessing every choice we make. We can freeze in our decision-making, wondering if this option is the right one.
“How do I know the right path God wants me to walk down?” These kinds of thoughts can produce an anxious faith where people are wondering if they are walking in the call and purposes of God. These scriptures bring a clarity and peace to that whole way of thinking.
“Trust in the Lord,”
“Commit your way to the Lord,”
“Wait on the Lord,”
It is He that will establish your steps. Do you see? God is taking the responsibility of choice outcome away from us and simply asking us to trust. Wherever you find yourself today, whatever decisions that you make, if you make them from a place of trust in God, it's the right decision. If you commit your plans to Him, be confident that the steps you take will be ordered by Him.
To outwork this, we need to bring God into our decisions. Trusting God with an issue or decision doesn't mean praying and continuing to worry about it. This concept means bringing a decision to Him, surrendering it, and walking in whichever direction He'd like you to go in.
Trusting Him is being God-conscious in our big decisions and our small decisions. It may be hard at first to bring God into everything, but when you start to make it a habit of your life, you'll feel peace like a blanket. When we commit our way to God, we’ll feel His presence, no matter the circumstance or pressure, and “He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn” to all those around you.
Pray With Me
God, let me be conscious of You in every decision I make today. I release the responsibility to make every decision correctly in my own understanding, but instead lean on You and trust You to order my steps for Your glory. I want to trust You more deeply. Amen.
Key Memory Verse
Psalm 37:23-24, "A person’s steps are established by the Lord, and he takes pleasure in his way. Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord supports him with his hand."
