Who You Say I Am - Part 3

DAY 12 OF 15

In Bible times clay vessels were jars to store food, jugs to carry water, bottles to hold oil, bowls to eat from and cups to drink from. Once the clay is fired in the kiln it is strong, virtually unbreakable.

We are like clay in the potter's hands. God moulds and shapes us for the purpose He has in mind. Irenaeus was a Christian leader in the 2nd Century around 200 years after Jesus died and rose again. Here’s what he wrote about being God’s workmanship;

“It is not you who shapes God;

it is God that shapes you.

If then you are the work of God,

await the hand of the Artist

who does all things in due season.

Offer the Potter your heart,

soft and tractable,

and keep the form in which

the Artist has fashioned you.”

As we spend time with the potter we continue to be moulded and strengthened to become who He created us to be. We are His masterpiece, unique and valuable.

Discover more in today’s verses about how God made us.
