The Influencers Responsibility: How Our Likes, Followers, and Subscribers Can Have Eternal Significance নমুনা
Have you ever found yourself being good at something that does not seem to line up with anything else you're doing in life? Like out the clear blue sky, you get an idea and try it and realize, it worked and you're good at it.
That’s me when it comes to event planning. I wouldn’t call myself an event planner, yet one day, God led me to plan an event. With no knowledge or know-how, I planned an entire event, ran the event, and spoke at the event. Convinced, after I saw how much work it took, that my first event would also be the last one I planned, I sealed the day with some pictures and sighs of relief.
Until about a month later, when I heard God tell me to plan another event. I wish I could say I was excited, but the word begrudgingly seems to fit that immediate response. Nonetheless, after some whining and pouting, I did it. Then I did another one and another one and the next thing I knew, this event was reaching people in different cities, states, and countries. I now lead conferences that have both national and international reach.
This place of influence feels like it snuck up on me. For many of us, that is how becoming an influencer happened or will happen.
There is no formal preparation or influencer 101 course. God places a gift in our hands to steward and he sends people for us to lead. However, as Christians, we get to learn how to do it well, by reading our word. People like Esther, King David, and Nehemiah teach us so much about how to steward unexpected influence. And we get to lean into this wisdom for our assignments.
Each time I prepare an event, I remind myself that this is an opportunity to change someone's life. Through the hustle and bustle of it all, I intentionally find ways to draw them closer to God. This is the space God has called me to steward and the sphere of influence he has called me to transform. This has eternal significance.
What space do you currently occupy or what assignment are you currently operating in where you have influence? How are you currently using that influence? And lastly, how can you better use this influence to lead people to the knowledge of Christ? Journal out your answers and ponder on them over the next few days while asking God to show you the fruit of your influence.
