FOREVER I WILL
You are the God who formed my world. You are the God who spoke my life into existence. Disarrayed in my sin, Your grace unfurled. You welcomed me home without any resistance.
Do you have a favorite necklace that you wear every day? If so, you may understand the disappointment of searching for the necklace only to find, much to your disappointment, that it was thrown into a box—coiled into a ball and impossible to disarray.
We can find ourselves like that coiled necklace. Due to hectic schedules, unfiltered thoughts, and wrong decisions along life’s path, our once-close relationship with Christ fell to the bottom of our priorities. Months and maybe years pass, and now we find ourselves tangled in a sinful, hectic, and anxious mess beyond uncoiling.
Dwelling on our doings and becoming obedient to our flesh leaves us “disarrayed.” In Romans 3:10, Paul says that not one person is righteous. Therefore, not one person can be saved through his or her own righteousness (Phil. 3:9). However, Paul tells us in Romans 5:8–10:
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Because of the resurrection of Christ, our Creator and loving Father made it possible for us to come to Him in our mess, and let Him “unfurl” us into the children He has called us to be. There is nothing so evil or burdensome that He cannot handle it. He joyously celebrates, without condemnation, when His prodigal sons and daughters come back to Him.
Come to Him; cast your cares upon Him. What do you have to lose? (1 Peter 5:17)
About this Plan
God wants us to be transformed. This devotional plan will remind you of the many ways God works in our lives to bring us closer to Himself. Whether we are far from him, distracted, hitting rock-bottom, or asking Him to take us higher, He is faithful.
