Truth vs. Lies
Have you ever played the game “Two Truths and a Lie?" In this game, you tell someone three things about yourself, but only two of them are true—one of them is a lie.. The other player has to figure out what’s true and what’s a lie. It’s a fun game, but we need to remember lying is the opposite of truth and can often lead to trouble.
Let’s look at the story of Isaac. When Isaac was very old and almost blind, he asked to see his oldest son, Esau, so Isaac could bless him. Jacob, Esau’s twin brother, wanted Isaac’s blessing for himself. He decided to trick his father by pretending to be Esau, so he could steal his brother’s blessing. Isaac was tricked by a lie that sounded like the truth.
In this week’s episode of “Out Of The Shadows,” Nebulos had tricked Glacia into believing that he wouldn’t hurt the Frozen Flame. Check out this clip to see how Glacia learns Nebulos lied to her.
Like Isaac, Glacia was tricked into believing a lie. She didn’t know that Nebulos was being dishonest with her. Arina encouraged Glacia to just focus on doing what her grandmother would do. We can do the same thing and focus on what we think Jesus would do when it’s hard to see the truth!
Ask Yourself: When it’s hard to see the truth, who can you talk to? How can being like Jesus help when it’s hard to see the truth?
Challenge Yourself: Go to God! When the truth gets tangled and it’s hard to see, go to God to seek the truth. You can do this by reading your Bible, studying how Jesus lived His life, praying and listening to the Holy Spirit, talking to trusted godly friends or adults, and going to church.
Pray: God, thank You for helping me know the truth. Please help me understand the Bible and choose to be like Jesus when I’m not sure what to do. In Jesus’s name, amen.

About this Plan
What is truth? In today’s world, the truth can be hard to see and even harder for kids to understand. In this five-day devotional, we’ll look at themes throughout the Bible to explore God’s truth, and we’ll listen to clips from “Out Of The Shadows,” the newest season of our eKidz family podcast, Adventures Of The StarKeepers, to help us apply truth to our lives.
