Holy 90 (The Four Gospels)

DAY 21 OF 90

What we read this week:

Matthew 15: Jesus feeds 4,000 men and heals many people

Matthew 16: Jesus and Peter, the call of the cross

Matthew 17: The Transfiguration

Matthew 18: The Parable of the Lost Sheep and forgiveness

Matthew 19: The Rich Young Ruler, divorce and the kingdom

Matthew 20: Healings, predictions of his death and the Parable of the Vineyard Workers

Matthew 21: The Triumphal Entry and the cleansing of the temple

Notable verse: Matthew 16:24 — “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘if anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”

Encouragement for you: The call of the cross and the story of the Rich Young Ruler certainly tell us that following Jesus has a cost. It will require the sacrifice of worldly pleasures but in return, we'll receive eternal life from Jesus Christ!

Something for you to consider from the reading: What’s the meaning of the Parable of the Lost Sheep?
