Day 3 - Voices & Purpose in Life
There are so many deep questions in our lives:
What will my legacy be?
What job do I want to do?
What matters in life?
Am I genuinely following God?
Where did I put my cell phone?
All of these questions (except for the last one, which may likely be in your hands right now) are not the real questions we should ask ourselves. There is a deeper calling God has for all of us; there is something that goes beyond just a personal purpose.
To simplify this more, we have found main themes on purpose to be narrowed down (but not limited to) the following: Being close to God, and making disciples.
When we are close to God we will not just listen, but obey His commands, and when we are making disciples we are not doing it for personal glory, but seeing every person encounter the Love of the Father!
In the Great Commission, we are given clear instructions as to what our purpose on earth is as Christians. Even though this instruction is for every believer, we all want to know what our specific purpose is as an individual. So many times, this can create unneeded friction and confusion.
Just like how a sheep doesn't worry about what it needs to do the next day or where it needs to eat, the same applies to us, our Shepherd is watching out for us! He never sleeps, He leaves the ninety-nine for the lost one! This is our God, and He is calling us to be close to Him, but are we drawing ourselves close to Him?
When the focus is shifted from an internal pursuit of our desires to the desires and instructions of our Shepard, we know we are in safe hands. We can trust that God has been faithful to us for far too long to fail now!
Today take a moment to ask God to show you where you can be a light and how to minister the Gospel.
About this Plan
