Making Space For Hunger
As we fast, we must rely on the Lord to give us our strength.
Hunger is a trait that is common to every living creature on earth. It is a need that demands satisfaction. From our conception until our last day on earth, we need sustenance. The dictionary defines sustenance as nourishment or a source of strength. Consider these two questions: What is your source of strength every day? What is it that sustains you moment by moment? Tiffany Bluhm shares how her circle of friends shifted their perspective on fasting.
Since hunger is a universal experience, there can be a benefit to doing a fast with other believers. Fasting is the intentional choice to abstain from food or something else we enjoy. When we deny these pleasures, we create space to awaken a spiritual hunger for God. Our hunger and passion for God may dull because of our desires for other things. Use the cravings and desires you experience as reminders to allow God to fill those spaces. Let God be the one who sustains you and gives strength.

About this Plan
The idea of fasting with others seems a bit strange. Jesus made it quite clear that we were not to draw attention to ourselves when we fast. Yet there were times where the Bible calls His people to a corporate fast. This five-day audio plan will give you some insight into the benefits of fasting with others. Our five guests will speak of their experiences in fasting with others.
