SEX IS A COVENANT ACT
Marriage is a covenant between two persons that God gives his blessing. A covenant being made meant to last for life. It goes without saying it’s not without challenges. How are we supposed to keep the passion, remain faithful and not search for new waters to quench our lust and love? A well-functioning, healthy sex life makes for a good start. Just as the marital promises are confirmed in the sexual union the covenant is renewed every time the two have sex. The man and wife are meant to be each others only source to satisfy the passion burning inside. When the two have sex strong emotions evolve making it easy to say ”I love you”, ”forgive me” or ”I want to spend the rest of my life with you”. The covenant is renewed.
That very reason points to the fact it might be unwise to initiate an active sex life with your partner early on. It can shade flaws you’d do best to discover and process before you decide whether you want to spend the rest of your lives together or not. The flaws might otherwise surface long after when you already got married, moved in or had kids together.
God not only allows sex within marriage, he strongly advises it.
