Who is your Shepherd?
When people come to Jesus, some call Him Rabbi, which means teacher, and that is accurate. But certain people, those who are close to Him call Him, Rabboni. Rabboni is the possessive form of Rabbi, and it means “my Rabbi.” Jesus says in John 10:14, “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me” [NLT]. For the Lord to be your shepherd, you have to be willing to be His sheep..
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” [NRSV]
God is the only one who can fully satisfy you such that you will not only have all that you need but also what you want. We get into trouble when we go outside of God to meet our needs. David says the Lord is my shepherd, which means God takes care of me. The Lord is, not was, but is. Psalm 23 is David’s way of saying God is more than enough. We need to prayerfully enter into the space that David is in and trust God to take care of us, those we love, and His church.
Ps.23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” [NLT]
Pray for yourself, your children [even those yet unborn], and for the Church of Jesus Christ. Say, “Father, because You are my Shepherd, the Shepherd of my children and the Shepherd of Your Church, we have all that we need, we shall not want, in Jesus Name. Amen.”
As you sing this Hymn, bring all your needs and wants to mind and refocus your heart on the Good Shepherd, the shepherd of your soul. Make it your declaration that the Lord is my shepherd, I am His sheep, and I have all that I need.
Shepherd of my soul I give you full control,
Wherever You may lead I will follow.
I have made the choice to listen for Your voice,
Wherever You may lead I will go.
Be it in a quiet pasture or by a gentle stream,
The Shepherd of my soul is by my side.
Should I face a mighty mountain or a valley dark and deep,
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide.
Shepherd of my soul Oh You have made me whole,
Where’er I hear You call how my tears flow.
How I feel your love how I want to serve
I gladly give my heart to You O – Lord.
Be it in the flowing river or in the quiet night,
The Shepherd of my soul is by my side.
Should I face the stormy weather or the dangers of this world.
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide.
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide. AMEN!

About this Plan
Having the Lord as a Shepherd, as The Shepherd, or as our Shepherd would be mind-blowing. But it has to be the Lord is 'my personal shepherd,' and that is the most astonishing truth. If the Lord is your Shepherd, and you are His sheep, He will take care of EVERYTHING. Special thanks to Martin Nystrom for the Hymn "Shepherd of my soul" featured in this plan.
