Beyond: Living Unshakable

DAY 11 OF 12

Aligned with loving God and living our calling as a thriving, unshakable vessel of God, we will inevitably be asked to love those we work and minister with. You do not have to work outside of the home to operate in meaningful work. Mothers and fathers alike can testify to this! You also do not have to have an online presence, church or small group to be a minister.

Minister, in the verb sense, is to attend to the needs of someone. If you are a spouse, you attend the needs of your partner. If you are a parent, you attend the needs of your children. If you do both, PLUS work outside the home, you likely attend the needs of your customer, manager, co-workers, and so on. If you do serve within a ministry entity, the ministry may be connected to your calling. Then again, your ministry involvement may be in addition to the other vital roles you assume in order to deliver love.

The hope is, wherever we work or minister, we are aware there are people we have an influence on as we interact and engage with them. As we begin each day, let our prayer be to trust Holy Spirit to empower us to radiate Christ’s love to all we minister and work with. What can we expect to be the fruit of radiating the love of Jesus in our homes, places of employment and ministries?

Scripture tells us when Jesus went places, He taught, announced the Kingdom, facilitated healing, and laid down His life for the sake of others. As we enter the space we have been planted within, God encourages us to radiate Jesus Christ in a similar way. We too can expect to impact the lives of those around us in the way we teach with our words and actions, speak of and usher in God’s Kingdom presence, have faith for healing, and lay down our ambitions in order for God’s will and deeds to be extended to those in need of Him.

Today, sit with the Lord and allow Him to search your heart for a moment. Be encouraged to ask:

Lord, am I conscious and aware of the souls You have planted me among? Do I seek their good?

Lord, am I intentional with seeking You in order to radiate You and Your love to those around me?

Does my life point to Jesus? Does my life announce Your Kingdom? Do my words and actions facilitate healing in my home, work or ministry?

Has my life been known to reflect and radiate another kingdom? My own? Father, will You reveal to me the steps to walk in recourse?

Lord, how might You be calling me to lay down my life for those You have placed in my life?

With God’s grace and Holy Spirit leading, resolve to grow beyond comfort zones and live unshakable by determining to be more intentional about loving well your flock, co-workers, co-ministers and so on.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I ask You to move me to be aware of the needs of those around me in my home, work and ministry. Father, cause me to lay down my desires and ambitions, for Yours, for the sake of those You have placed in my circle of influence. Jesus, I desire to radiate You and Your love in the spaces and places You have positioned me. I desire my life teach, usher in Your Kingdom, facilitate healing and point each soul I engage with to You and the redeeming love of our Father. Holy Spirit, search my heart and move me to repentance where I have grown rigid and hard hearted towards others. Thank You Father for moving me to be more like my Savior and King. In Your Name I pray, amen.
