Scripture Reading
1 Chronicles 14:1-17
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 14:17
David’s fame spread everywhere, and the LORD made every nation afraid of him.
Reflect
Today’s reading includes signs of blessings for David: the provision of materials, workers for the palace, international fame, the birth of thirteen children, and military victories in the defeat of the Philistines. To whom does David attribute his success and prosperity (verse 2)? Before attacking the Philistines, what did David ask of God? What was God’s response? Have you ever prayed to God prior to engaging in a major activity?
Pray
Holy God, you are mighty and victorious. I seek your blessing in all I do this day. Align my heart to your will and may my actions bring glory and honor to you. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Carpenters and stonemasons
Tomorrow’s Reading
1 Chronicles 15:1-24: David prepares to bring the Covenant Box to Jerusalem.
