Business With God

DAY 10 OF 12

The word "minister" is borrowed directly from the latin word "minister," which means servant. It even has another latin word, "minus" as its root (also borrowed by English), which means less

Spiritually, Jesus became nothing so that we could become something. And God rewarded Him by giving Him the name above all names. And anyone who decides to follow Jesus will follow His example!

The world, though, obsesses over productivity, placing production and profits over people. They call this being "outcome driven." But God's "outcomes" are not ours. Jesus is concerned about building powerful people who look like Him, think like Him, and act like Him. His Holy Spirit is laboring to teach us to walk in connection with God and to do the works of God.

The world creates rules to ensure outcomes, but God's kingdom disciples others, bestowing freedom and power, multiplying the image of Jesus throughout the earth.

The world says, "it's not personal, it's just business." The kingdom, though, isn't interested unless it’s personal. His kingdom is relational in nature, and is obsessed with building healthy people and creating healthy connections.

His kingdom is patient, long-suffering, compassionate, and generous... helping others step into better thought processes and work habits. His Kingdom wins when others are actualized in Him.

Again, Jesus is not someone else when He engages in business. His motives and desired outcomes don't change. The way He loves people doesn't change. He is still taking the low position so that others can win. When we join Him in this, helping others to discover and experience God's goodness, and to walk in their original calling to be His friend, it's called discipleship. And that is exactly what He is calling us to do with Him in business.

There is only one question:

1. How is God inviting you to disciple and empower others?

BONUS. If the question seemed impossible for you to answer, then maybe this one's for you. Have you ever had selfless dreams with God? If so, what are they? If not... Take some time and dream-storm. The nice thing about dreams is they are commitment-free. What "could be" with God?
