Habakkuk – The Man Who Asked Questionsনমুনা
Day 3: God Speaks to Habakkuk
God didn’t mind Habakkuk’s questions. He knew that Habakkuk wasn’t questioning who He was as Lord over all the earth. God knew that Habakkuk was honestly trying to understand the difficult times he was living in.
So, God answered Habakkuk again, “Write down what I’m about to tell you, Habakkuk. It is for a special time in the future and it will come to pass!”
God encouraged Habakkuk to have faith and believe. “The righteous will live by his faith in Me,” God told him.
Even though He had hard things to tell Habakkuk of what was about to happen to His people, God also told him about a happy ending when goodness would triumph and blessing would come to His people again.
God gave Habakkuk a picture of what was to come. “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” The wicked would be punished, but those who would turn to the Lord would in the end enjoy great blessing.
Humbly, Habakkuk prayed to God. He had shown him hard things that were to come. As a true prophet, Habakkuk wrote down God’s words and shared those hard things with God’s people.
And, as a true prophet, now he prayed for the people. He remembered the times in years past that God had shown great compassion on His people and saved them from destruction. Habakkuk prayed, “I stand in awe of Your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day! Do them again, Lord! Even while You are angry with our sins, Lord, remember to show us mercy.”
Did you know that God will talk to you, just like he spoke with Habakkuk? Sometimes God shows us hard things so that we can pray for the good things to come.
Let’s pray: Dear God, help me to hear your voice! And, help me to pray your good things into the earth. In Jesus name, amen!
