The Gospels in 30নমুনা
Day 11
Mark 4-6
The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-26) had been suffering for 12 years. I don’t believe that God ignored her suffering before this moment, but the moment she touched the fringe of His garment was certainly divine.
The daughter of Jairus was 12 years old. We don’t know when her illness began, but I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that she was born in the same year that the suffering began for the other woman. Two totally unique situations, both encounter Jesus and are made whole. It’s as if God orchestrated these events, and set them into motion many years before they crossed paths with Jesus.
I would like to point out one other observation.
The woman with the issue of blood reached out to Jesus in her desperation. She took a risk and became vulnerable in order to be made whole.
The daughter of Jairus, however, didn’t personally reach out to Jesus. It was by the plea that her father made on her behalf that she was made whole. What a powerful illustration of intercessory prayer!
About this Plan
During this plan, you'll read the entirety of the Gospels in just 30 days. Are you up for the challenge? Doing so will require 2-4 chapters of Bible reading each day, along with a deep dive devotion highlighting a couple verses from each day's reading. We hope you enjoy this plan written by Cody Griggs, missionary to Ecuador.
