SE Students - Be the Branch - Part 5নমুনা
Would you rather never be allowed to eat Chick-Fil-A again or trip up the stairs in front of your crush every time you see them? Those are both horrible. Nobody would choose to do either of those! If anyone had to experience one of those, their response may be to look up to the Heavens and cry out “WHY ME, GOD?!”
You have probably found yourself thinking this before, “Why me, God?” Why did she say that to me? Why do these people treat me that way? Why does nobody notice me? Why am I experiencing hate? On day one, we discovered that the world hated Jesus. He reminded His disciples and us that we also may experience hate on our journey as Christians.
While experiencing hatred on earth, what might have kept Jesus from asking His Heavenly Father, “Why me, God?” was knowing that the world was not His home. Jesus knew that even the hatred that put him on the cross could not take His focus away from the hope of Heaven!
Followers of Jesus are out of this world! Seriously! When you choose Jesus, you choose Heaven as your home, meaning Earth and all of its pains are just momentary. You no longer belong to the world. So, buckle up. It may be a bumpy ride here on Earth because of the hate brought on by people. Hold on tight, because you are still heading home. Instead of saying “Why me, God?” say “Thank you, God!”
