Recover Your Identity as a Child of Godনমুনা
The Father Restores Our Identity
In the parable in the book of Luke, we see how the father restores his son’s dignity and clothes him with a new robe. The father restores his integrity and gives him a ring; by doing this, he gives his son the authority to negotiate again. The father wanted his son to know that he was responsible now, that he could be productive, and that he had the privilege of conducting business on his behalf.
Even though the son had been disorderly and wasteful, the father gave him back his integrity, so that he could have the ability to see in others and do what he could not see and do before. The father also restored his sense of respect and gave him new shoes. His feet were now ready for a new life with order, obedience, and rules.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
We no longer live under the power of fear, which is the first work of the soul we see in Adam, as it says in Genesis, “I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself.” God restores our dignity, respect, and integrity through the work of His Spirit.
God’s love restores my dignity. I understand now that I am the image of God, and the beloved of the Father, because He took me back and clothed me with a new robe. Even when I was undeserving, and did not have an identity, He gave me a new one through His love. His power leads me to have integrity. God says in 2 Timothy that by His Spirit he has restored in us our dignity, integrity, and respect.
Self-control leads me to understand that I can have respect. By the Spirit within me, and my ability to have self-control, I do not humiliate others. I do not have to yell. Sin does not dominate my life.
By the Spirit, we have integrity, which is our ability to recognize our mistakes. By the Spirit, we have dignity. We have the identity of children of God.
The presence of the Holy Spirit of God rebuilds the core values in the life of human beings and makes them live with dignity, integrity, and respect.

About this Plan
Pleasing God in all we do has to do with being created in His image. Bearing fruit has to do with being created to His likeness and is a result of His life. I please God because I am made in His image; I do His works, not mine. We are often inconsistent in our behavior because we do not know our identity. God wants to restore our identity.
