12 Days of Healthy Christmas

DAY 5 OF 12

“The Greatest Christmas Transition?”

We always celebrated Christmas as a family, but our celebration changed in 1973. God burst forth into my family’s existence; we would never again be the same. We transitioned from one life to another and while it was tough; we were better for it. Our Christmas after this transition and every Christmas since had a different emphasis. They were Christ-focused, hopeful, joyful, and unselfish.

The above passage is all about transition. The whole world has transitioned. The transition was from judgment to restoration, and the transition is the same for us today. Under judgment we never measure up and we always fall short. But out of Bethlehem will come forth a savior who will lead the people to restoration. He paid the price for our restoration.

“For all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.” We all must realize this passage from Romans is completely true, but dwell in this realization. We never move forward to restoration.

In verse three, “the woman in labor gives birth…,” she did give birth and Jesus was born. In that moment the plan for restoration was set in motion.

All creation moved from judgment to restoration. Have you accepted this transition?

This Christmas season we have the opportunity to set aside death and embrace life. You have the opportunity to embrace physical restoration to a great degree. We will all die, but the way we live today determines the life we live tomorrow.

So each day this Christmas season, it is okay to participate in celebrating the joy of Christmas, but let’s do so in a way that doesn’t jeopardize our health. Let this Christmas season be a new healthy beginning in your life.

Health Tip: Healthy living encourages a flourishing life; Unhealthy living promotes a fading life.
