BEWARE OF PRIDE
When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die. (Ezekiel 33:13)
Most of us have known pride and all of us agree that pride is something which is hated by God. The book of Proverbs says that arrogance is the beginning of a destruction. We can achieve success and fame, but they will be destroyed instantly by our pride.
Pharaohs, these earthly kings with all of their splendor, greatness, and glory will be lost by their pride. Even other rulers felt that they were gods and everyone should bow down to worship them. This also happens in our world today.
Today's modern people have extensive and great knowledge. They succeeded in discovering and creating super-sophisticated technological tools for the advancement of the times. There is nothing wrong with the greatness of the modern humans; it's just that pride has made them forget God as the Creator of everything.
In our lives as believers, we must keep our heart from being spiritually arrogant. We must not assume our own righteousness. We must be willing to accept advice and never demean another. Why was Lucifer banished from heaven? Because he was arrogant, prideful and self-righteous.
The humble will receive the Father's love and receive a defense from our Father in heaven.
In our lives as believers, we must keep our heart from being spiritually arrogant.
