Open In Case Of Emergency

DAY 4 OF 14

Just keep going

There’s a tourist attraction in Chattanooga, Tennessee called Ruby Falls - a spectacular natural waterfall that flows 1120 feet underneath Lookout Mountain. To get to the waterfall you have to descend 260 feet in an elevator, right into the heart of the mountain. Once there, you hike nearly a mile underground through dark caverns, low ceilings, past underground streams and stalactite rock formations. You hike the descending, slippery trail until you’re at a depth that is almost the height of the Empire State Building. Then, the cavern opens up suddenly to reveal this glorious, rainwater-fed, 145-foot high waterfall. It's stunning.

The day after my family and I visited this amazing waterfall, I was talking with my daughters about some issues they were facing and it occurred to me that sometimes life is like a visit to Ruby Falls. I told them that sometimes in life, you will find yourself in a dark place where you bump your head, you slip over, you can't see very far in front of you, and you feel like everything is going downwards. But, if you have enough faith to keep walking, you will end up seeing something glorious that only God could have orchestrated.

Do you feel like you’re hiking through a cave today? Is life dark and slippery? Keep walking because God has something glorious to reveal to you.
