Word for the Day

DAY 9 OF 17

The second part of James 5:16 tells us that the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results! The word earnest means ‘sincere’ and ‘intense conviction’. Today, as Christians and Christ minded people, we are called to pray with earnesty, sincerity and intense conviction, knowing that our prayers will result in power and bring great revelation to others as well.

What is prayer? Prayer is an act of worship that glorifies God and reinforces our need for Him. Prayer is the key to building our love relationship with God. Jesus Christ Himself (who was God), often withdrew from others to pray. In the days we live in now, we need to be concentrating on prayer more than anything else.

We need prayer to align ourselves with God’s mission in our lives. We need prayer to increase the boldness and authority God has given us and we need prayer to remain at peace. In Philippians 4:6 it says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in all things, in prayer, supplication and thanksgiving, make your requests known to God”. The word supplication is the same as earnest; in other words, with full conviction, knowing that what you are asking from God will happen.

PRAYER

Lord, thank You that You are God. Thank You for being in control of every situation and in every season. Right now, I ask for Your peace over my life and healing for our nation and the world. I ask that You would align my heart with Yours. May everything that I do bring glory to You in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

About this Plan

Word for the Day

In this devotional series, Pastors Russell and Sam together with other leaders from the Planetshakers Church team share how God wants us to live under His Light and not the darkness of a situation. Let us live under the light of who our God is. He is our healer, our redeemer, our freedom, and our joy. In the year of acceleration, He wants to bring light to your situation!
