Joshua’s Legacy
Joshua 24:15
As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
Story
Before Joshua died, he gave a farewell message to the Israelites. He reminded them again about the wonderful things that God had done throughout their lives. Now it was time for them to make the decision about whom they were going to serve, the God who had saved them from Egypt, or other gods?
As for Joshua, he said “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
To serve someone means to follow, to work for and to be obedient to that person. Serving God means obeying and following Him daily. In order to serve God, you should love Him first. People can only serve someone committedly when they love that person.
Joshua left such a strong legacy as a faithful servant of God. Even just before he died, he encouraged Israel to choose God over all things. May Joshua’s legacy be our life principle: we live to serve God and to worship the True God above all things.
Prayer
Dear God, make me strong in my faith like Joshua, help me obey Your word daily. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
