FOMO: Future Success
There is something that lingers in the back of all our minds. Sometimes we don’t even know it’s there, but sometimes the thought just pops up and yells: What am I going to do with the rest of my life?!
Some of your friends may already be talking about the colleges they’re applying to, the fancy internships they’ve gotten, or how much money they have saved up. And realizing that the world’s youngest billionaire (the guy who co-founded Snapchat) is only 25 only makes things worse.
SPOILER ALERT: No one’s got it figured out. We’re all making it up as we go along.
But whether you believe it or not, God wants you to be successful (Jeremiah 29:11).
Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
One of the best things about following Jesus is you don’t have to have it all figured out. With Him, success isn’t defined by what you do, but by who you are in Him. As you commit to following Him, He directs you to the success that’s best.
You may be thinking: “Great! But seriously. Can I get to that success and future I dream about?” YES! All you have to do is work hard at the things you love NOW and trust God to open doors along the way.
So yes, planning is good. Don’t think everything will come easily. But as you put in the effort, there’s no need to stress about the end result. You may not know, but God knows. Follow Him and He’ll lead you to a better future than you could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

About this Plan
FOMO. It’s what happens when everyone else’s great day stops us from enjoying our own. We’ll never find contentment when we’re constantly pursuing what might have been. Fighting FOMO was created by Fuse, the student ministry of NewSpring Church, to help students move past the fear of missing out and find joy in their present circumstances.
