I Need a Miracleনমুনা
What is a Miracle?
A miracle is a divine act by which God reveals Himself to people. I would love for you to have a big definition of miracles. We don’t want to be people who doubt or question whether something was “big enough” to name it a miracle. An answered prayer, by this definition, is a miracle. It is a divine act by which God reveals Himself. We want to be people who have such faith that we know answered prayers are miracles. We want to be amazed and know that God shows up whenever we see Him move in our lives and in the lives of others.
Did you know that most doctors actually believe in miracles? In a national survey conducted by the HCD Research and Louis Finkelstein Institute for Religious and Social Studies of the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York, they found that 74% of doctors believe that miracles have occurred in the past, and 73% believe that they still occur today. The poll also indicated that American physicians are surprisingly religious, with 72% indicating that they believe religion provides a reliable and necessary guide to life. So, two-thirds of doctors are believing that miracles exist and are real.
Miracles are God acting on behalf of His people. We all want to have miraculous things happen in life. You will come to a point, mark my words, where you will need a miracle. If you don’t believe in miracles right now, just wait for somebody close to you to get sick, and you will be pleading with God for a miracle. The song by Third Day, “I Need a Miracle,” in the chorus says this:
Well, no matter who you are and no matter what you’ve done, there will come a time when you can’t make it on your own. And in your hour of desperation, know you’re not the only one praying, ‘Lord above, I need a miracle. I need a miracle.’
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are, or what your background is. At some point in your life, you will have a personal need for a miracle of God. So, why do miracles happen? To give proof of something. John says they happen, “so that you may believe in the name of Jesus.” Let’s believe in Jesus. Let’s believe that through Christ, miracles will happen in our lives. Your prayers are not forgotten. Your answered prayer is a miracle. Believe.
