What does the Bible say about comfort?
- God is the source of all comfort.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3)
- We can come to Jesus whenever we need comforting.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7)
- God comforts us so that we can comfort others too.
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. (2 Corinthians 1:4)
