Communion and Love: A Believer’s Lifestyleনমুনা
Find your place in the battle
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Don McCullough, a minister in San Francisco, wrote this of Winston Churchill in his book, Waking from the American Dream:
During World War II, England needed to increase its production of coal. Winston Churchill called together labor leaders to enlist their support. At the end of his presentation, he asked them to picture in their minds a parade which he knew would be held in Piccadilly Circus after the war. First, he said, would come the sailors who had kept the vital sea lanes open. Then would come the soldiers who had come home from Dunkirk and then gone on to defeat Rommel in Africa. Then would come the pilots who had driven the Luftwaffe from the sky. Last of all, he said, would come a long line of sweat-stained, soot-streaked men in miner’s caps. Someone would cry from the crowd, “And where were you during the critical days of our struggle?” And from ten thousand throats would come the answer, “We were deep in the earth with our faces to the coal.”
This describes the kingdom of God. Every believer has a role in the great battle. Every believer is gifted by God to serve in the common cause. Every believer has a battle station.
You are included in this. Satan may whisper to you, “Oh, not you. Maybe others, but not you. You don’t know enough. You have failed too much. You are not gifted. Not you.” Don’t you believe it! God has gifted and called you, and we need you.
Are you using your gift? Do you know your gift, or gifts? If not, find out. Ask God. Listen to God. Pray and talk with your small group. Try some things. Find your place in the battle and get started. It will be so much fun, and you will impact eternity. Then, one day in heaven, there will be a great victory parade, and you will be in the parade. You won’t be a bystander watching, but one of the soldiers in the parade.

About this Plan
The cross represents the two important elements in the life of the believer. The vertical axis represents our communion with God and the horizontal axis, the love of neighbor. These are the two qualities we will learn a little about in this plan, as the apostle Paul teaches in the First Letter to the Corinthians. Do not miss it!
