Asleep At The Wheel; Taking Back Control Of Your Lifeনমুনা
Now that you realize the importance of loving yourself and are fully committed to the process of believing God’s truths about you, it’s time to discover a superpower that has the potential to transform your entire life: the incredible power of choice. The choices you make determine every aspect of your life. Statistics have shown that the average person makes about thirty-five thousand choices every single day. The life you live is directly dictated by those very choices. The superpower, then, is honing your ability to make the best choice possible.
The first thing you need to do is forgive yourself for the bad choices you’ve made prior to this moment that have led you into unfavorable situations. Maybe you feel as if you’re a bad person and that you’re too far gone to ever come back into God’s embrace. Perhaps you believe that you’ve done too much damage through the choices of your life and you feel helpless and hopeless and don’t know where to begin to move forward. If you find yourself in that place, the first thing I want to tell you is that you are torturing yourself unnecessarily. God has already forgiven you and paid the ultimate price for those sins by sending His Son Jesus to give His life for you, so you need not continue trying to pay a debt that was already paid. That’s like me taking you out to dinner, and you not having enough money to pay for your meal, and me covering it for you, only for you to continue stressing over how you could pay me back. Relax and accept the gift that He has so freely and unconditionally given you.
Once you’ve forgiven yourself, the greatest and single most important choice you can make is to choose Christ. Choose to follow Him and submit your heart fully to Him. Sometimes we get so impatient that we begin trying to help God by jumping into opportunities or situations too soon, only to be let down because things didn’t work out like we planned. No matter how excited, anxious, or impatient we become, we cannot help God. He doesn’t need our help at all. This is getting the formula completely out of order. Instead of seeking fame, fortune, success, and other accolades to help us fulfill our God-given purpose, we must seek Him first, and then all these other things will be come later. When we put our trust fully in God and choose to fully submit our hearts to Him, He will provide a life that couldn’t possibly be better if we had scripted it ourselves. Choose to love Him. Choose to get to know Him. Not just to know about Him, but to truly know His heart and obey His teaching, and everything you want will be given to you. Not when you want it, but exactly in His perfect timing. It’s time to choose Christ, because He has already chosen you.
