The LORD acknowledges Solomon’s prayer and promises to watch over the Temple and hear the prayers of the people.

Today’s Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:15

[The LORD said:] “I will watch over this Temple and be ready to hear all the prayers that are offered here.”

Reflect

What does the LORD say to Solomon? What does the LORD promise (verses 15-18)? What will be the consequences of disobedience (verses 19, 20)? What does the LORD promise if the people repent (verses 13, 14)? How and when have you experienced God’s forgiveness?

Pray

Sovereign God, I seek to serve you faithfully and to obey your laws. Help me to turn away from evil and to repent and return to you whenever I sin. Thank you for your steadfast love, mercy, and forgiveness. Amen.
