Book of Psalms

DAY 26 OF 43

HISTORY

History lesson is important. Why? Because through history we will be able to learn about the struggles of one nation and apply it to the future. From the Israelite journey story, we can learn about how to increase the quality of our Christianity.

God’s presence with the Israelites is a lesson about the love of God, His power and His strength for His people and our lives. The Israelites made mistakes during the journey but later turned back to the Lord. We may fall when we walk with God, however God’s faithfulness will give us the chance to return to the Lord. There, we see the faithfulness of God.

From God’s work in our past, we are reminded that God is so good to us. History brings us to lift up our thanksgiving to the Lord for His works.

DO NOT FORGET

Asaph, the writer of this psalm, was a great worship leader and musician. His talents made him to be chosen as a worship leader in the Kingdom of David.

A worship leader is someone who is supposed to fear the Lord and build special relationship with Him. However, Asaph also experienced ‘dry season’; his mouth praised the Lord but his heart was filled with anxiety when he looked at people around him and imagined that they enjoyed ‘more’ than what he could enjoy.

He tried to remember again, though, that he actually received a special portion: the safety in the Lord’s protection and presence.

When we keep meditating on God’s goodness during the day and the night and never stop witnessing to many people about His goodness, it’s not easy for us to be deceived and to spend our life thinking that we are unfortunate.

Don’t you think that our God is a good God?

BE THANKFUL FOR ALL THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE

(Ps.Pierre Roland - BiC Macau)
