Responsibility
Have you got that one friend that never commits to any plans, but then always feels left out?
Or you know, maybe you’re that friend...
No shame, but let’s talk for a minute about commitment and responsibility.
It is easier than ever to flake out on commitments. All you have to do is send a text five minutes before your commitment and say something vague like, “Hey, I had something come up, I can’t make it.” We all know that means you decided to stay home and binge on Disney+!
Following Jesus requires commitment, it requires being a person of your word; being chosen and appointed comes with responsibility.
What’s your responsibility as you follow Jesus? Simple: be faithful. Be a person of your word, and live out the commitment you made to Jesus when you gave Him your life.
Jesus did the hard part: He died for you, forgave you, called you, appointed you, and gifted you. All you have to do is, one day at a time, remain faithful.
By being faithful, you will grow. In fact, faithfulness will cause more growth in your life than anything else possibly could.
You gave Jesus your life, now live it for Him.
That’s your responsibility.
THINK ABOUT IT: Have you been flaking out on Jesus? What excuses have you made?
REFLECT: Is there an area of your life that you know you need to be more faithful in? How can you start?
PRAY: Father, help me to be faithful to You today. Thank You for doing the hard part, now help me to keep my mind focused and my intentions honest as I follow You, amen.
